  • Jasnière: a dry white wine which makes a superb aperitif.
  • Côteaux du Vendômois : a “grey” rose perfect for summer evenings
  • Vouvray : delicious as a sparkling or non sparkling white
  • Montlouis : similar to the Vouvray but benefits from growing south of the Loire.

Further to the west (about 45 minutes) visits of the acclaimed red vineyards of Chinon and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, separated by a bridge over the Loire can be made. These vineyards are on the doorstep to the Anjou ...

As a good cheese is often the best compagnon of wine, you are in the region of goat’s cheese in its’ various forms; fresh, dry, peppered and with garlic. Every Wednesday and Saturday the local producers display their wares at the market in Montoir and they will share their passion and produce with you. You are sure not to be disappointed.

You are in the country of “Rillette” and “Andouillette” best tasted with Vouvray wine. What more is there to say?
